Dear friend -
I think it is time for me to thank you for the kindness to me. I was very glad to see you name handed to me on a paper to write to you again for I have written to you last year.
Last year I told you of my home and of coming here to school, so these [sic] time I will tell you of my vacation and my last year's work in school.
I was in the Indian school last year and the lessons seems pretty hard for me but I done the best I could [p. 2] through the winter and when the time came in the close of the school to read out the promotion, my name was was [sic] read among the Junior class
And soon after the close of the School I went up north to work for the summer.
I went to a good home in Sheffield Mass. The man who I am working for is very kind to me and take a good care of me.
Every sunday morning I walked three miles to church and come back in the evening and have a good time.
I came back to school in October and take up the Junior work.
When I came back I found some boys from my home and of course it is very nice to see them. And another thing that I found when I came back was a [p. 3] new building for the girls and it is a very big one too. The girls are going to work on their trade in this building seem [sic] as the boys in the trade school.
In building of this house I thing it is very noisy because it is near the Academic that we here [sic] the hammer going on all day making it very difficult to hear any thing in class.
Every Sundy [sic] morning we clean our rooms just as clean as we can for expection [sic] at nine o’clock. And then at eleven o’clock we go to the Christian Endeavour meeting till twelve o’clock. And at two o’clock in the afternoon we go to sunday [p. 4] school till three o’clock and at half past three we formed in companies for inspection and march into church.
I sing in the choir and sing every sunday in the church.
We drilled twice every week and this is every body needs in this school.
We go to study in the evening for two hours and one hour in the morning to get our lessons ready for the next day.
I must close my letter now. I thank you very much for the kindness to me.
Your’s gratefully
Henry Tatiyopa
