HENRY F. MICH ELL, Seedsman, 1018 flarket Street, Philadelphia, Pa. Novelties and Specialties in Flower Seeds DESCRIPTIONS GIVEN BY THEIR RESPECTIVE INTRODUCERS A 6q Giant Comet " The Bride." No doubt some new varieties of the splendid Giant White Comet Aster ASICrS will be offered this season, but none is likely to equal in delicacy of coloring and elegance of form the novelty I now introduce. "White, changing to rose " is the nearest description one can give of this very lovely coloring, the flowers being firstly pure white, then white changing to rose and finally of a beautiful rose tint. It is the same variation of shades already seen in the Victoria and Mignon sections and which ends to the plan such a peculiar Sam I need hardly say that the color is most effective on the Giant Comet Aster, with its long wavy petals like those of the Japanese Chrysanthemum. Pkt. 25c, 5 pkts. for $1.00. Cosmos It is with great pleasure that I call your at- tention to my grand new Cosmos. A mixture of which I offer, for the first time this season. It is the result of seven years careful selection from beautiful new types and embraces a col- lection of the most exquisite colors and forms imaginable. There are so many shades of color and variety of form that it is impossible to describe them all. The monster flowers, pink and white, measure from four to five inches across ; flowers with overlapping petals, resembling single dahlies, with large beautifully frilled petals. 262 Erlinda. An immense snowy white flower, double the size of ordinary cosmos, measur- ing from iYz to \Yz inches across. Pkt. 15c, 4 pkts. for 50c. 263 Rosita. Like the above, but a beautiful pink color. Pkt. 15c, 4 pkts. for 50c. 264 Conchita or Crimson Velvet. Flowers 2 to iYi inches across, each beautiful dark vel- vety red. Pkt. 15c, 4 pkts. for 50c. 257 Giant Perfection mixed. Pkt. 15c, 4 pkts. 50c.

New Dwarf Vernon. Begonia 8 Begonia Superflorens Compacta. Charming new com- pact variety of the beautiful and universally admired Be- gonia Vernon, forming small round, very compact bushes of about 4to 5 inches in height and possessing thesame good qualities as its taller growing parent, namely, the brilliant red flowers and the deep brownish red foliage. Bloom- ing in the greatest profusion throughout the summer and autumn, this new variety may be considered one of the best bedding plants for dwarf groups or ribboning. Pkt. 25c, 5 pkts for $1.00. 334 Dahlia Perfection or Giant. It is certainly gratifying that thegreat advances which have of late years been made in Dahlias are not confined to the double and Cactus-flow- ering section. In point of fact a splendid giant flowering strain now reaches us from France, which quite puts in the shade all the varieties hitherto considered the finest in cultivation. The seed being gathered from the largest and broadest petalled flowers only, varying in diameter from 4 to 5^ inches, reproduces them in a variety of the most splendid colors, among which the striped sorts are not lacking. I feel I can confidently recommend this novelty to the attention of the trade. Pkt. 25c, 5 pkts. for 11.00.
