The picture of 1912 shows the front of the Helmholtzschule as can be seen from Habsburgerallee. The left building was used by the school's principal and the beadle. On its second floor school building and principal's home were connected by a housed bridge. Principal and beadle were able to use this building until 4 Oct 1943 when a bombardment during WWII destroyed bridge, building and else. After war a wooden pavillion was erected instead to house two classrooms temporarily. The pavillion lasted until 1970/71. It was replaced by today's gym which was built in 1971/72.
