Dorpat, Paul; ad for the Seattle venue San Francisco Sound drawn by Walt Crowley
Title
Helix, v.2, no.9, Jan. 18, 1968
Description

Cover: Art deco idyll '20 cents the Copy', by Jacques Moitoret. Page 4 article discusses the Floyd Turner flag burning case. Pages 9-12 include a Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee graphic comic depicting Black leaders such as Martin Luther King and Malcolm X standing against the Vietnam War.

Ad at right: drawing of a helium balloon with "San Francisco Sound" written on it; one of two men in the balloon is releasing a ballast bag and saying "Higher, much higher!" A separate balloon, like a child's balloon, says "13th & Pike". A bird looks bewildered, and has a question mark above his head. The rest of the ad is a listing for an upcoming show: "Tripsichord Music Box...Five Pound Smile...Black Swan...Lights...8:30-3:30 Jan•18•10•20" (1968).
