Page 1 article discusses the Seattle School Board's attempt to ban Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee Chairman Stokely Carmichael from speaking at the Garfield High School auditorium. The Board's decision was overruled by a Superior Court judge in the name of free speech and Carmichael spoke at Garfield on April 19, 1967 to a crowd of 4,000. Page 5 article discusses the formation of the Negro Labor Council in the Central District and legal action taken against Seattle area labor unions due to their discrimination against Black applicants. Page 9 article includes tips for how to get into Canada to avoid the Vietnam War draft.
