English: NAVAL STATION GUANTANAMO BAY, Cuba - U.S. Coast Guard Petty Officer 2nd Class Yusef Vera, an air crewman attached to U.S. Coastguard Search and Rescue Helicopter Detachment Guantanamo, performs routine repairs on flight controls for the MH-65A Hitron Helicopter at the Naval Station Guantanamo Air Terminal, June 13. Vera is one of three helicopter mechanics currently deployed to GTMO in support of Joint Task Force and NAVSTA Operations. JTF Guantanamo provides safe, humane, legal and transparent care and custody of detainees, including those convicted by military commission and those ordered released by a court. The JTF conducts intelligence collection, analysis and dissemination for the protection of detainees and personnel working in JTF Guantanamo facilities and in support of the War on Terror. JTF Guantanamo provides support to the Office of military Commissions, to law enforcement and to war crimes investigations.
