"Schlackenwerth/Böhmen 1690 - 1756 Rastatt.

Markgraf Ludwig Georg Simpert von Baden-Baden, auch Jägerlouis genannt. Öl auf Leinwand, doubliert. Unsign. Verso auf dem Keilrahmen auf einem alten Etikett bez. mit den Lebe- und Hochzeitsdaten des Porträtierten. H. 84,5, B. 71 cm. «Dieses qualitativ hochwertige Werk geht auf ein Porträt zurück, welches Heinrich Lihl 1755 vom damals 53-jährigen Markgrafen gemalt hat. Es befindet sich heute noch in den Sammlungen des Hauses Baden. Der im Bild dargestellte Orden vom Goldenen Vlies wurde Ludwig Georg Simpert im Jahre 1729 verliehen.» (Patrick Heinstein, Weinheim und Neuchâtel, 25.05.2018).
