Description
English: The Insel Hotel was opened in 1959. It was the best hotel in Heilbronn. Insel means "island". The hotel is built on an island in the middle of the Neckar River. The hotel was greatly expanded in the early 1970s. My room was on the third floor (Europeans would call it the second floor), second from right, behind the "knot" in the tree. The Insel Hotel seemed like a different world when I was in the Army and passed it on the bus, on the way to the station. It did not occur to me that I would stay at the Insel three times.
