Description
Deutsch: Luftaufnahme des Heidelberger Königstuhls. Im Tal liegen der Neckar und die Altstadt von Heidelberg. Auf halber Höhe sieht man einige Gebäude der Kliniken Schmieder Heidelberg, Speyerer Hof (Bildrand unten). Der rosa Fleck im Wald links von der Bildmitte ist eine in voller Blüte stehende Rhododendrenanlage; links unterhalb davon die dunkleren Bäume sind das Arboretum mit den Mammutbäumen. Die Gebäude auf dem Gipfel im Wald unterhalb der Antennen sind die Landessternwarte Königstuhl bzw. das Max-Planck-Institut für Astronomie mit dem Haus der Astronomie. Luftaufnahme aus einem Tragschrauber heraus; einige Spiegelungen von der Cockpitverglasung noch vorhanden.
English: Aerial view of the Heidelberg Königstuhl. The Neckar and the old town of Heidelberg lie in the valley. Halfway up, you can see some buildings of the Schmieder Heidelberg Clinics, Speyerer Hof (bottom edge of the picture). The pink patch in the forest to the left of the centre of the picture is a rhododendron plantation in full bloom; to the left below it, the darker trees are the arboretum with the redwoods. The buildings on the summit in the forest below the antennas are the Königstuhl State Observatory and the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy with the House of Astronomy. Aerial view from a gyroplane; some reflections from the cockpit glazing still present.
