Description
Deutsch: Luftbild des Geländes in Heidelberg, auf dem sich das Europäische Laboratorium für Molekularbiologie (EMBL) sowie das Max-Planck-Institut für Kernphysik (MPIK) befinden, aufgenommen aus einem Tragschrauber. Das runde Gebäude (Administration, Konferenzgebäude) ist – auch in seiner Innenstruktur – einer Doppelhelix nachempfunden. Im Bau befindlich ist ein Mikroskopiezentrum. Die Baumreihe auf dem Forschungsgelände trennt das EMBL von dem MPIK rechts ab. Der Hof in dem Feld Bildmitte oben ist der Bierhelder Hof (Restaurant). Die Häuser links im Wald gehören zu dem Heidelberger Stadtteil Boxberg. Unten im Tal ist der Heidelberger Vorort Rohrbach.
English: Aerial view of the site in Heidelberg on which the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) and the Max Planck Institute for Nuclear Physics (MPIK) are located, taken from a gyrocopter. The round building (administration, conference building) is modelled like a double helix - also in its internal structure. A microscopy centre is under construction. The row of trees on the research site separates the EMBL from the MPIK on the right. The courtyard in the field in the centre of the picture above is the Bierhelder Hof (restaurant). The houses on the left in the forest belong to the Heidelberg district of Boxberg. Below in the valley is the Heidelberg suburb of Rohrbach.
