English: Spc. Francis Larkin is deployed to Camp Adder, Iraq, along with his home unit, Company A, 628th Aviation Support Battalion, as a part of the 28th Combat Aviation Brigade's mobilization. This is the first time the 28th CAB has deployed as an entire element and it has brought together Soldiers from all walks of life. Larkin, a Hecksherville, Pa., resident, is a corrections officer at the State Corrections Institute located in Frackville, Pa. He has been a corrections officer for four years and he enjoys his job. As a member of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard, Larkin is a motor transport operator and he is assigned to the truck platoon of the 628th ASB. He has been putting his security skills to good use at Camp Adder as a force protection Soldier. His duties include transporting and guarding local nationals who come on post to work each day, and Larkin is responsible for their safety as well as the safety of his fellow Soldiers. Here on deployment, Larkin spends his free time in the gym lifting weights and playing video games. Back home he enjoys watching football, baseball and hockey, and he likes to go to concerts to see his favorite bands play. Once Larkin returns from deployment, he plans on taking a trip with his girlfriend to Las Vegas or Cancun, and he wants to buy a new motorcycle. He will also spend some time with his family, friends and son.
