| Description |
English: Heathland south of the B3078 road, New Forest It has been relatively dry for the past few weeks and the gravel cap on this heathland plateau means that it can drain well. Only a few puddles remain in selected places. In wetter times this area can get very wet underfoot, due to the clay beneath the gravel. The gorse is fully in flower at this time of year, adding a lot of yellow to an otherwise brown landscape. In the distance on the right is Picket Corner, on the far left the trees of Franchises Wood. |
