[edit]
Description
English: Heartsease, Viola tricolor The little wild pansy growing in the field margin on limestone soil. It is a common wild flower and the whole plant was traditionally used in the treatment of epilepsy, asthma and numerous other complaints. The flowers were considered to make a good cordial, good in diseases of the heart, from which may have arisen its popular name of Heartsease. It was also believed to be a strong love potion.
