Português: Paranapiacaba é uma vila inglesa localizada em meio à floresta Serra do Mar, à 60km de Santo André (Brasil). Seu nome tem origem Tupi, que significa paranã (mar), epîak (ver) e aba (lugar), ou "lugar de onde se vê o mar".

No século XIX, foi fundada com a função de transportar, sentido Porto de Santos, pessoas e cargas, principalmente de café.

Antes da construção da linha ferroviária haviam rotas indígenas naquela região, entre elas a antiga Trilha dos Tupiniquins, que tinha início na região de São Vicente passando por São Paulo, Paraná, dirigindo-se ao Paraguai.
English: Paranapiacaba is an English village located in the middle of the Serra do Mar forest, 60km from Santo André (Brazil). Its name originates Tupi, which means paranã (sea), epîak (see) and aba (place), or "place from where one sees the sea".

In the nineteenth century, was founded with the purpose of transporting, to the Port of Santos, people and cargo, mainly coffee.

Prior to the construction of the railway line, there were indigenous routes in that region, including the old Tupiniquins Trail, which began in the region of São Vicente passing through São Paulo, Paraná, to Paraguay.
Español: Paranapiacaba es una villa inglesa ubicada en medio del bosque Serra do Mar, a 60km de Santo André (Brasil). Su nombre tiene origen Tupi, que significa paranã (mar), epîak (ver) y lana (lugar), o "lugar de donde se ve el mar".

En el siglo XIX, fue fundada con la función de transportar, sentido Puerto de Santos, personas y cargas, principalmente de café.

Antes de la construcción de la línea ferroviaria había rutas indígenas en aquella región, entre ellas la antigua Ruta de los Tupiniquins, que comenzaba en la región de San Vicente pasando por São Paulo, Paraná, dirigiéndose al Paraguay.
