English: Haywood Yancey Riddle was an American politician and a member of the United States House of Representatives for the 4th congressional district of Tennessee. He was born on June 20, 1834 in Van Buren, Tennessee in Hardeman County. He completed preparatory studies and graduated from Union University in Murfreesboro in 1854. He was an adjunct professor of mathematics and languages at that institution. He graduated from the law department of Cumberland University in Lebanon in 1857 and was admitted to the bar in Ripley the same year.
