A peculiar feature of thisgeyser is, it will have several eruptions about threehours apart and then remain inactive for a couple ofdays. When in action it throws a powerful streamfully 150 feet in height, increasing in force very per-ceptibly during the earlier stages of its eruptions, andnot reaching the climax for several minutes, apparentlymaintaining its greatest vigor from five to eight min-utes. The constant boiling of itscontents, though only a small part of its surface is agi-tated, as the bubbles of escaping steam and gas arise, produces a wave-like undulation over the entire springand gives it a steady and not inconsiderable overflow.A small cave-lik
