The opportunity to have worked and researched with Gerhard Graubner in the post-war period, where lots of modernist opera houses were designed and construcucted in the context of construction of the new Germany, took a great role with his assignement to the unfinished opera house construction in 1956. With his expertness on planing, programming of opera houses and theaters and on technical equipments, Tabanlıoğlu got a clear design vision and realized them with co-workers from Turkey and Germany. The late period modernist designs of Tabanlıoğlu are a result of the attention he showed, at programatic issues like circulations and the use of spaces programmed with modular and mesurable construction systems.
