Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Hawthorn button-top gall The button-top gall on hawthorn is caused by a gall midge species, Dasineura crataegi. This eye-catching leafy structure was located at the end of an otherwise normal-looking shoot. Many little projections can be seen on the gall; a closer inspection revealed that these had reddish tips.
