c/n FL574 Built 1964 and delivered to No4 Flying Training School (FTS) at RAF Valley in Anglesey. She was transferred to the Central Flying School at RAF Kemble in March 1976 and by April had joined the ‘Red Arrows’ team as ‘Red 3’. The ‘Red Arrows’ Gnats were replaced by Hawks during 1979 and XR977 was retired to No2 School of Technical Training at Cosford. She was transferred to the Museum collection in 1982 and is seen on display in the ‘Hangar 1’. She has since been moved to Hendon and is on display there (as of 2019).
