[edit]
Description
English: Hawke's Shaft Engine House. A further view of the engine house shown in 590440 (see for links), 837651 and 1314928, and which has the tallest surviving chimney in Cornwall. "It was originally built in 1891 for an 80 inch engine, but was doubled in height in 1913 to create sufficient draught to operate the boilers for a new 85 inch engine. The shaft was linked to the County Adit, a deep drainage outlet constructed from 1748 which became 31 miles long and served over 60 mines." http://www.cornwall.gov.uk/default.aspx?page=9959 (broken link).
This is a photo of listed building number 1140971.

which gives a thorough description of the building, thinks the chimney was "heightened probably circa 1900". Nowhere can I find a figure for the actual height.
