Hattie McDaniel wanted to be buried at this cemetery but at the time of her death, the location didn't allow burial of black people. In 1999, a cenotaph was erected in her memory by the cemetery and her family. Hollywood Forever, Hollywood, Los Angeles County, California, USA. Plot: Garden of Legends (formerly Section 8), south of lake. GPS (lat/lon): 34.08833, -118.31758
