Hasankeyf Zeynel Bey Türbesi

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: One of pictures closer up. This Türbe or tomb was built in the mid-15th century for Zeynel, who was the son of the Akkoyunlu governor. It has great tiles in Turquoise on the exterior. Its base has been badly restored. When I visited in September 2005 another restoration was under way. To my amazement in 2010 there was another restoration going on, this time to prepare for the move to dry ground once the Ilisu project waters start to rise. I later saw on tv how it was put on a huge trailer and was being moved to another spot, as the waters would otherwise submerge it.
