Description
English: Harvey's Stone Looking South West towards Balsdean. Ruined barn on Pickers Hill in the mid-distant and a concrete seat to the right of the Memorial 'Rottingdean Windmill Walks'.

Memorial to 'John Harvey Esquire of Ickwell Bury in the County of Bedfordshire died suddenly on this spot the 20th day June 1819'. The Harvey family occupied Ickwell Bury http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/BDF/Northill/index.html in the parish of Northhill and Mr John Harvey was a deputy-lieutenant for Bedfordshire, and served as its high-sheriff in 1795. No idea so far as to why he died so far from home.
