Memorial to 'John Harvey Esquire of Ickwell Bury in the County of Bedfordshire died suddenly on this spot the 20th day June 1819'. The Harvey family occupied Ickwell Bury http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/BDF/Northill/index.html in the parish of Northhill and Mr John Harvey was a deputy-lieutenant for Bedfordshire, and served as its high-sheriff in 1795. Genealogy http://www.higherbound.net/Gibbard/jh_sg.htm No idea so far as to why he died so far from home. |
