Description

Artist Harry Clarke Title John Millington Synge's poem Queens (9 studies) Medium pencil, ink and watercolor Size 11 x 6.7 in. / 27.9 x 17.1 cm. Year 1917 - Description Harry Clarke, R.H.A. (1889-1931) Nine full-scale preparatory studies for a series of stained glass panels, illustrating John Millington Synge's poem Queens each inscribed on scrolls with the relevant lines from the poem at the foot of each illustration, and at the foot of the mount surrounding each one; variously signed pencil, ink and watercolour each 11 x 6¾ in. (27.9 x 17.1 cm.)
