HIVING THE BEES. 650 HARPERS YOUNG PEOPLE. VOLUME IV. Bees swarming! And we had just that minute comein, and we didnt see them! Grandfather looked at usand laughed. I was right behind ye coming down across, said he,and they were getting pretty well out then. Theyreout in a minute. It always makes me think of a freshetwhen they start, theres such a flood of em, and theymake such a roar. Too bad you didnt see em first; buttheres a lot more to follow, and its better luck next time,sure. Yes, sir, said we; but we did feel streaked. Well, Uncle Zadok got a hive down from the shedc-hamber, and washed it out with sweetened water. We always do that,said Grandfather Cotton; thebees are likelier to stay in it.
