Mr. King saw a goodmany people at this hotel who seemed toregard it as a home. I hope your daughter, Mrs. Benson,was not tired out with the rather longvoyage to-day. Not a mite. I guess she enjoyed it.She dont seem to enjoy most things. Shesgot everything heart can wish at home.I dont know how it is. I was tell in pa,Mr. Benson, to-day that girls aint whatthey used to be in my time. Takes moreto satisfy em. Now my daughter, if Isay it as shouldnt, Mr. King, there ainta better-appearin, nor smarter, nor moredutiful girl anywhere—well, I just couldntlive without her; and shes had the bestschools in the East and Europe; done allEurope and Rome and Italy; and, afterall, somehow, she dont seem contented inCyrusville—thats where we live in Ohio—one of the smartest places in the State;grown right up to be a city since we was THEIR PILGRIMAGE.
