Naples owes little of her attraction toher buildings. Her National Museumwas originally a cavalry barracks, erectedby tlie Viceroy Duke of Ossuna in 1586.Subsequently it was ceded to the universi-ty, which was established there for a time,but in 1790 it was fitted up for the recep-tion of the royal collection of pictures andantiquities.
