Harness pendant
Description
English: A copper alloy shield shaped medieval harness pendant with a suspension loop in the centre of the top edge at right angles to the plate. It is decorated with wave patterned lines which still show traces of gilding. The remains of a gold coloured border can also be seen. It has a length of 62.9mm, a width of 34.2mm, a thickness of 1.4mm and it weighs 8.85g. This may represent the Paveley de Bickenhull family whose arms were Or, four bars wavy sable (<a href="https://archive.org/stream/notebookoftristr00risdrich/notebookoftristr00risdrich_djvu.txt">https://archive.org/stream/notebookoftristr00risdrich/notebookoftristr00risdrich_djvu.txt</a>).
