Summary
[edit]DescriptionHari Parbat or Koh-i-Maraan Fort.jpg |
English: Hari Parbat, also known as Kooh-e-Maran, is situated to the west of Dal Lake in Srinagar, within the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. The fort was originally constructed by Afghan Governor Atta Mohammed Khan in the 18th century. Subsequently, Emperor Akbar built a long wall around it in 1590. Encircled by remarkable edifices representing various religions, the fort offers a commanding view of Dal Lake from its summit.
The fort is preserved by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) and remains a majestic sight with its ancient apartments and towering pillars. From Hari Parbat, one can enjoy a panoramic view of the Makhdoom Sahib shrine. |
