Summary
[edit]DescriptionHarbour Gate - geograph.org.uk - 725553.jpg |
English: Harbour Gate Looking across the inner harbour/marina. The blue topped piles used to attach the pontoons can be easily seen. The gate is used to keep the water level above a certain level and are opened for between 4 and 5 hours per day to allow access. Earlier this week the marina was not as tranquil when a high spring tide caused the highest water levels within living memory and the water came through the slats at the top of the gate (as it is designed to do) and the water level rose to within inches of the harbour wall. |
