English: Postcard for "Happy Landing Restaurant and Cafe", New Orleans.


Front shows exterior view of the building flanked by silhouettes of two airplanes (it was located near New Orleans Lakefront Airport), and below two views of interior dining room.

Not dated; this copy mailed 1942. Original printing likely the previous year, when Shushan Airport was renamed New Orleans Airport.

The Happy Landing is perhaps better remembered as a dance hall and jazz venue, as for many years they hired local jazz bands for dancing; some live recordings were made here in the 1950s.
