Description
English: Hans Reuß von Reußenstein, born in 1539 (calculated), † Schelklingen 6 April 1603 aged 64 years. He was married to Agatha Renner and died without leaving a son which meant the end of the lineage of the noble knights of Reuß von Reußenstein. Epitaph on the left side of the main entrance of the municipal parish church in Schelklingen. Inscription: „Anno Do | mini 1603 den 6 Ap | rilis starb der Edel Hans Raiß von Rais | senstei[n] seines Alters 64 Jar der letste diß stamme[n]s und name[n]s | der Allmechtig Gott verleihe im v[n]d v[n]s alle[n] ein | fröliche Aufferstehung Amen“. Deutsch: Hans Reuß von Reußenstein, geboren 1539 (errechnet), † Schelklingen 6. April 1603 im Alter von 64 Jahren; er war mit Agatha Renner verheiratet und hinterließ keinen männlichen Erben, womit das Geschlecht der Reuß von Reußenstein im Mannesstamm ausstarb. Grabplatte auf der linken Seite des Hauptportals der Stadtpfarrkirche Schelklingen.
