English: Tomb of Yue Fei. Yue Fei Temple, Hangzhou
Emperor Xiaozong (1163 - 1190), the successor of Gaozong, rehabilitated Yue Fei's memory. The general's body, which had been buried elsewhere, was removed and reinterred here, and a memorial temple was built for his spirit to receive the honor of Confucian rites and rituals. The tumuli (burial mounds) of Yue Fei and his adopted son, who was executed along with his father, are seen in this photo. |
