Description
English: The Gun Carriage Store, also known as Building 20, is located in Historic Old Québec’s Artillery Park, in the gorge of the St. John Bastion, bordering Rue d’Auteuil. The hangar is a stone building composed of four 14.9 meters (49-foot) sections each with five double doors and a dormer in its centre, and a final 4.8 meters (16-foot) section. The building follows the natural slope of the land and has a stepped profile.
Français : Le hangar à affûts de canon, aussi connu sous le nom du bâtiment 20, se trouve dans l’arrondissement historique du parc de l’Artillerie dans le Vieux-Québec, dans la gorge du bastion Saint-Jean, en bordure de la rue d’Auteuil. Il s’agit d’un bâtiment en pierre formé de quatre sections de 14,9 mètres (49 pieds) comptant chacune cinq portes à double vantaux et une lucarne centrale. Une dernière section, de 4,8 mètres (16 pieds), termine l’ensemble. Le bâtiment épouse la déclivité naturelle du terrain et présente un profil en escalier.
