Summary

[edit]
Description An aerial view of the F Area at Hanford, in Washington, shows a wide range of waste sites during mid-cleanup. The Department of Energy and its River Corridor contractor, Washington Closure, just completed a TPA milestone at the F Area, where 53 waste sites were remediated, backfilled with clean soil and re-vegetated with native plants. The area is located about five miles northwest of the old Hanford town site, in the northern portion of Hanford's 586-square mile nuclear reservation.
