[edit]DescriptionHandsworth & Smethwick railway station (site) and Handsworth Booth Street tram stop, West Midlands (geograph 5662352).jpg |
English: Handsworth & Smethwick railway station (site) and Handsworth Booth Street tram stop, West Midlands Opened in 1854 by the Great Western Railway on its lines from Birmingham Snow Hill to both Wolverhampton and Stourbridge, this station closed in 1972. The formation of the Wolverhampton line was taken over by the Midland Metro who opened a tram stop named 'Handsworth Booth Street' on the same site in 1999. The Snow Hill to Stourbridge trains were reinstated in 1996 with the lines on the far left of the image, but no platforms were provided. View north west towards The Hawthorns, Wolverhampton and Stourbridge. |
