Title
Handle
Description
English: A copper-alloy probable vessel handle, U-shaped measuring 37.54mm in length and 13.01mm in width. It has a rectangular cross-section, measuring 3.24mm in width, with rounded corners. Between the handle and each of its terminals on the outer face there are two transverse decorative grooves. The terminals are rounded and have a central oval shaped perforation, this perforation is a lot larger, due to extensive wear on one terminal then the other. These terminals bend at about 35 and 45 degree angle from the handle respectively (it seems that one terminal has been bent after the handle was deposited) which would have allowed them to be attached to a rounded vessel body. No exact parallel can be found for this probable vessel handle, however, it is most likely to be Roman in date.
