Description |
English: Panel of printed cotton with four boys' handkerchiefs which were never cut into individual squares. The fabric was hemmed, embroidered with initials and used as a man's handkerchief. The upper left square contains a scene of children at work and play. The upper right square features two giraffes surrounded by other animals, including a lion, a tiger, an armadillo, and a gazelle. The lower left square shows horses and various horse-drawn carriages, and the lower right a variety of sailing ships. All printed in black on a white ground, with red borders. |
