arasitdie Ursache des Umfallens der Kohlsämlinge (auch schwarze Beine derKohlpflänzchen genannt) ist, so erscheint doch die Frage berechtigt,ob der Pilz unter allen Umständen befähigt ist, in die Pflanzen ein-zudringen. Nach den bisher vorliegenden Beobachtungen scheint esnur der Fall zu sein, wenn sich zwischen den Sämlingen viel Feuchtig-keit anhäufen kann, wie es stets möglich sein wird, wenn sie sehr engbeieinander stehen und wenn sie sich in schlecht gelüfteten Kästen be-finden. Daraus würde sich auch leicht die Verhütung der Erkrankungergeben, indem man die Pflänzchen möglichst weit voneinander stecktund luftig hält. Auch das Bestreuen des Bodens mit Holzkohlen-stückchen ist empfohlen worden. Dafs die Dauersporangien sich imBoden bis zur nächsten Vegetationsperiode halten, ist sehr wahrschein-lich-, daraus ergibt sich weiter, dafs einmal verseuchte Erde nicht so- 1) Pringsh. Jahrb.
