nd die Carotis medialwärts und von unten durchgreifend, b Das nämlichePräparat. Paukenhöhle, von unten dargestellt, um den doppelten Ursprung dergroßen Bodenzelle zu zeigen. Die hintere Paukenhöhlenwand (Paries mastoidea, paroi mastoid-ienne), welche im Groben ebenfalls den Abschnitt eines Cylinder-mantels darstellt, erhebt sich ohne jegliche Abgrenzung bogenförmigaus der unteren Wand. Am oberen Abschnitt der hinteren Wandfindet sich regelmäßig eine kleine, zackig geränderte Ausbuchtung, inwelcher ein Komplex von pneumatischen Zellen mündet (Sinus posteriorSchwalbe). Von unten wird dieses Loch begrenzt durch eine Quer-leiste, welche medialwärts übergeht in die kegelförmig vorspringendeknöcherne Umhüllung des Steigbügelmuskels — die Eminentia pyra-midalis stapedii — und an deren lateralem Ende sich die Pauken-höhlenöffnung des zum Canalis facialis hinuntersteigenden knöchernenChordakanälchens befindet. 7« Anatomie des Mittelohres. 271 leiste liegt an der hinteren Paukenhöhlenwand die mehr oder wenigerentwickelte flache Protuberanz des oberen Endes des Proc. styloides(Eminentia styloidea Politzer). Sie ist elfenbeinhart, glatt und ohnepneumatische Zellen. In der Tiefe der hinteren Wand läuft hinterder Eminentia stapedii der Facialiskanal hinunter. Derselbe ist voneinem nach abwärts immer dicker werdenden, kompakten Knochen-mantel umgeben. Durch Gefäß- und Nervenkanäle steht er an ver-schiedenen Stellen in Verbindung mit der Paukenhöhle und mit demWarzenfortsatz. Die mediale Wand der Paukenhöhle (Paries labyrinthica, Laby-rinthwand, innere Wand, paroi labyrinthique) scheidet die Pauken-höhle vom Labyrinth und hält gleichzeitig beide im Kontakt durchdie Labyrinthfenster. — Die Mitte der medialen Paukenhöhlenwandwird eingenommen vom Promontorium, einem rautenförmigen,ca. 8 mm breiten und ca. 6 mm hohen Feld, welches flach vorgewölbtist und welches die laterale Wand bilde
