HE present volume is issued under the auspices ofthe Officers and Directors of the Chicago Archi-tects Business Association, and is intended tobring the Association more prominently before theprofession by setting forward the reason for itsexistence and by explaining what it aims to accomplish. Thewriter to whom the work has been intrusted has resolved to makethe book one that shall contain such useful information (apartfrom the original object) that it will be a necessity to everyoneengaged in the planning or in the erection of buildings. Lists of members of the Association, of licensed architects,of the Illinois Chapter of the American Institute, and of kin-dred organizations, have a place.
