ut fromthe same point as in the male, a ligament, afterwards the roundligamentum of the uterus, extends to the inguinal ring. Thepart of the tube which lies below the point of attachment ofthis ligament becomes the horn of the uterus. In those animalsin which a middle portion or body of the uterus exists, thispart is formed by the coalescence of the two horns. In thehuman uterus, the two horns gradually become shorter, andare lost in the body or fundus of the uterus which is at thesame time developed. (See fig. 107, a, c). The sinus urogenitalis, which has been mentioned, is a cavityor canal, opening externally, in which the excretory ducts ofthe Wolffian bodies, the ureters, and the efferent parts of thegenerative apparatus terminate internally.
