Summary
[edit]DescriptionHampstead, B518 Fleet Road - geograph.org.uk - 1728964.jpg |
English: Hampstead: B518 Fleet Road When these houses were built around the 1870s contemporary Ordnance Survey maps show us that they would have backed onto open countryside. Fleet Road, to the left and in front of the houses, is also the B518 and part of the Hampstead one-way system first proposed by the then Minister of Transport, Ernest Marples, in 1962. The higher buildings of the Royal Free Hospital loom in the distance. |
