Description Hallertor, Regensburg. Nordöstliches Stadttor der Arnulfinischen Stadtmauer (um 980) von Regensburg an der Nordost-Rundung der damals noch erhaltenen Römermauer, die man sich im Bild links beim Brunnen vorstellen muss. Das Tor war bis zum Bau der mittelalterlichen Stadtmauer (um 1300), die das Ostenviertel einbinden sollte, der Ausgang der Stadt nach Osten, verlor nach dem Bau der neuen Stadtmauer seine Bedeutung für den Verkehr und wurde ein Uhrturm. Das Tor wurde im Zuge des Abbruchs der Stadtmauer im 19 Jhd. auch abgebrochen.
