English: Photographer: Andy Byers. Taken at high tide. Flood waters flowing from right (east) over the wall of Curwen Park onto the Cloffocks. The nearby Police Station is already flooded.
For many centuries Hall Brow was the main road north from Workington. Originally it led to a river ford at the bottom of Calva Brow. Later replaced by a bridge. The Calva Bridge (aka Workington Bridge) built in 1840s is the most recent construction. Taken from the safety of Curwen Hall hill. |
