Halfgroat of Elizabeth I
Description
English: Post medieval coin; struck silver halfgroat of Elizabeth I, third coinage, dated to 1600-1601 (by the mint mark). Obverse very worn, portrait virtually indistinguishable, although the two pellets behind the bust can be seen, thus giving the denomination of the coin. Cypher mint mark. Sections missing from the edge of the coin.

Obv. Bust indistinguishable, but facing left. Two pellets behind bust. [E D G R]OSA S[INE] SPINA Rev. Squared royal shield over long cross fleury dividing the legend CIVI/TAS/LON/[DON]
