Summary
[edit]DescriptionHalf Mile Drove - geograph.org.uk - 1434738.jpg |
English: Half Mile Drove Small lane linking The Broyle, the B2192, with Laughton Road, the B2124. Formerly part of The Broyle, a medieval deer park and common, that was enclosed in 1767. Consequently, like every other road that ran through the former park it has been designed with a ruler and is dead straight for the entirety of its half mile length. Interestingly, the lane was marked on Yeakell & Gardner's map of 1783 but not the first OS map of 1813. |
