English: Hale - the River Mersey at Small Ends. Hale. View across River Mersey from the Mersey Way at Small Ends. Ineos Chlor (former ICI) Castner-Kellner and Rock Savage chemical works at Runcorn. Unusual to see a boat on the Mersey (contrast the scene one can imagine from a hundred years ago). Manchester Ship Canal (that takes such traffic as remains) is concealed but runs between the river and the factories. |
