Les archives allemandes détiennent un film de 6 minutes sur la célébration de l’aïd el-kebir à Zossen en 1916. Cette fête fut célébrée le 9 octobre dans le monde musulman (peut-être le 8 à Zossen ?). Il doit donc s’agir du même jour.

Un personnage harangue la foule assise devant lui. Ce moment a-t-il été précédé d’une prière ? Si tel fut le cas, le film ne contient pas cette scène.

Mais le dispositif, les tapis au sol et sur l’estrade, le passage, visible au premier rang, des hommes passant de la génuflexion à la position assis en tailleur permettent de le supposer fortement, ainsi qu'une autre image de prière à côté de la mosquée.

L’orateur (khatib) était le cheikh égyptien, pro-turc et pro-allemand, Abd el-Aziz Sawis qui prononça la khûtba (prône), traduite par Idris pour les prisonniers Tatars. Il expliqua aux prisonniers qu’ils avaient été trompés par les ennemis de l’Islam mais qu’ils pouvaient désormais se racheter en s’engageant dans le chemin du Jihad (17).

The German archives hold a 6-minute film on the celebration of Eid el-kebir in Zossen in 1916. This feast was celebrated on 9 October in the Muslim world (possibly 8 in Zossen?). It must be the same day.

A character harangues the crowd sitting in front of him. Was this moment preceded by a prayer? If this were the case, the film does not contain this scene.

But the device, the carpets on the ground and on the platform, the passage, visible in the first rank, of the men passing from the genuflection to the sitting position in a tailor makes it possible to suppose it strongly, as well as another image of prayer beside of the mosque.

The speaker (khatib) was the Egyptian Sheikh, pro-Turkish and pro-German, Abd el-Aziz Sawis who pronounced khutba (praise), translated by Idris for the Tatars prisoners. He explained to the prisoners that they had been deceived by the enemies of Islam but that they could now redeem themselves by engaging in the path of Jihad (17).
