Description
English: "'To Serve the Cross' is the title of a new play, by James Halleck Reid [=Hal Reid], which was given its first performance at the Academy of Music, Baltimore, Monday night, Feb. 6. ¶ The story of the play deals with the life of a young Catholic priest, and the love, of a mother for her children, but is said to contain a vein of comedy as well. ¶ It was cast as follows: Rose Creighton, Helen Holmes; Mrs. Mary Bartlett, Olive West; Michael Grogan, Mart Cody; Patsey Moran, Jean Marcet [=Anna Marcet Haldeman]; Thomas Bartlett, Harold Vosburgh; Rev. J. J. Bartlett, Orrin Johnson; Josef Dumont, Theodore Roberts; Andrew Strong, Jack Drumfer; Frank Gordon, William Johnston; John Peabody, Ralph Delmore; E. P. Dustin, Bigelow Cooper; C. H.
